We have had a long term love affair with sensors, wireless and location tracking technologies. In the 1980's our subject matter experts were busy understanding the cutting edge of RFID technologies. In engineering terms this involved evaluating transponders on railroad box cars, empirically measuring their bit error rate and its correlation to modulation schemes and velocity of movement. In non engineering terms we were performing basic science in order to understand the strengths and weaknesses of RFID and RTLS technology. Today we still focus on masterminding the cost effective use of sensors such as RFID, IoT, and RTLS for the benefits of our clients.

American RFID Solutions has been working on tracking and inventory systems for 23 years, starting with TrackStar in 2002. We're the longest-operating RFID integrator still using the same core engineering and leadership team, which has kept us consistent.

Manufacturing Excellence

We've developed reliable solutions for factories, covering job shops, continuous process, JIT, and KanBan setups. Lear Corporation used our system to manage their European JIT process, ensuring shipments went out on time with no issues. ArcelorMittal had us build a system to coordinate their steel mill's production lines under harsh conditions. A Fortune 500 manufacturer applied TrackStar to handle build-to-order and JIT operations across multiple campuses, reducing inefficiencies with real-time data updates.

Defense & Aerospace Innovation

We've supported aviation, aerospace, and defense projects with practical results. L-3 Communication Systems-West used our system to improve workflow efficiency for DoD communication equipment. Another DoD contractor used TrackStar for tracking 27,000 government assets across a million-square-foot facility, maintaining full accountability and meeting strict maintenance and geodetic requirements. In 2021, another defense client gave us a 5-million-square-foot facility to manage, where we tracked 500,000 assets annually using energy-harvesting RFID, keeping operations lean and consistent with constant monitoring.

We've handled large data volumes—hundreds of billions of measurements—over the years for clients with enormous facilities, some with roofs up to 40 acres. These operations depend on accurate data for decisions. One of the top three U.S. energy companies in 2022 uses our system to monitor grid assets live.

TrackStar Dashboard: Processes billions of location updates yearly for stakeholder reports.

Transit Authority: Our 2021 system for the second-largest U.S. transit authority manages billions of requests annually.

Healthcare: We're in over 850 hospitals, tracking 1.5 million pieces of medical equipment.

  • We were finalists for Best in Show at RFID Journal Live three years in a row, 2008 to 2010—a consistent run.
  • A 34-hospital group measured all their vendor projects for performance sustainability over a 3 year window. TrackStar won - our method of using automation to stop creep and walk-back to "bad-habits" earned us first place for improving hand hygiene compliance and reducing infections over the long haul.
  • We did a RFID webinar with Motorola that had the highest attendance and longest viewer retention they'd seen.
  • ARS has deployed some of the largest passive RF topologies, with thousands of contiguous antennas in one system.
