TrackStar processes millions of HARP hand hygiene events as a routine task in its daily duty. Each event is an empirical tally for recognizing and scoring a hand wash. As a result of this activity the HARP module within TrackStar is the foremost utility for capturing, processing and presenting hand hygiene events. HARP is an acronym for Hand-wash Activity Reporting Platform. HARP is now equipped with a new state machine that toggles between a low energy sleep state and hand-wash capture mode. The TrackStar multi-campus hospital enterprise system is fully compatible with the International Standards Organization’s efforts to make the passive RFID specification a universal open standard. By also adding HL7 to its repertoire TrackStar is now able to leverage more open standards within the hospital ecosystem than any other incumbent. TrackStar fully integrates with the software stack in the hospital IT space. Since inception TrackStar has been compatible with the open standard movement. Its past successes include compliance to Gen1, Gen 2, and in its mature form the current ISO/IEC 18000-part 6 standard making TrackStar comport to the largest automatic ID architecture in the world. TrackStar engineers made an improvement in their digital signal processing (DSP) to shorten dwell time for detection of a hand wash. The purpose-built hardware is now able to respond within milli-seconds allowing rapid detection of hand wash activity.
